Gary L. Grossman, Chief Executive Officer

Professional Background

Gary started his business career in 1974 as a small volume builder.

In 1977, Mr. Grossman entered the real estate brokerage business with a partner as a Century 21 franchisee. During the eleven-year period, ending in 1988, this real estate business blossomed into a six office, 160 plus salesperson organization. In these years, Mr. Grossman was very actively involved in the residential development business having developed approximately 9,000 lots and having built over 7000 homes. Mr. Grossman built and his family continues to operate approximately 400 residential rentals.

In 1988, Mr. Grossman purchased a minority stock interest in Forest Home Systems, Inc. and was elected to the Board of Directors.

In September of 1990, Mr. Grossman assumed the Office of President and Chief Operating Officer of Forest Home Systems, Inc. Mr. Grossman successfully repositioned Forest Homes from a vertically integrated development/construction product retailer to a network of Authorized Builders.

In April of 1992, Mr. Grossman organized an American/Japanese Joint Venture known as Forest Homes of Japan to establish an Authorized Builder network throughout Japan.

In May of 1994, Mr. Grossman purchased all manufacturing, engineering,  transportation and distribution assets of Forest Homes Systems Inc., and now operates this business as Forest Homes Inc. 

Forest Homes currently exports products or has orders pending or has delivered engineered building systems packages in Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Poland, Korea, Israel and Russia.

In February 2000, Mr Grossman launched American Pride Builders Inc. to provide turnkey trade ready framing services to the general contracting and construction management sectors of the industry. 

Mr. Grossman currently owns and operates Building Solutions Since 1977, LLC, Forest Homes, Inc., Smart Start Building Systems Inc., Building System Product and Supplies Company, Inc., Next Generation Log Homes, Inc., and American Pride Builders, Inc.

Service to the Industry

Mr. Grossman is actively involved in the National Association of Home Builders Building Systems Council, having served 9 years as the Building System’s Council Board of Trustee’s, 3 terms as President of the Panelized Housing Council, 1997 Vice Chairman and was the 1998, 2004 and 2008 Chairman of the Board of Trustees.

Mr. Grossman has nine terms on the Executive Committee at the National Association of Home Builders.

Mr. Grossman was 1998 Vice Chairman and the 1999 Chairman of the International Committee at the National Association of Home Builders.

Mr. Grossman was the 1999 recipient of the S.A. Walters Award. Mr. Grossman was the 15th recipient of this prestigious National Association of Home Builders/Building System Council Award.

Mr. Grossman has served on the National Association of Home Builders Manufacturing Housing Task Force, the American Cities Task Force, National Association of Home Builders Budget Committee and the Building Systems Council Board of Trustees.

In January 2003, Mr. Grossman was appointed to a five year term as a Director as the National Association of Home Builders Research Center.

In January 2008, Mr. Grossman was appointed to a new 4 year term as Director of the Board of Directors, and as a member of the Executive Committee at the National Association of Home Builders Research Center. Mr. Grossman served as the Secretary / Treasurer in 2008 and 2009 and as Treasurer in 2010.

In 2009, Mr. Grossman was appointed to a Presidential Gulf Coast reconstruction task force to advise the Federal Coordinator of Gulf Coast Reconstruction on matters of residential construction

In January 2011, Mr. Grossman was appointed to a 3 year term as Chairman of the Board at the National Association of Home Builders Research Center.

 

Matthew R. Grossman, General Manager

picteam mattgMatthew joined the family business in 1995, as a Carpenter Apprentice. Matthew worked in the field for over 10 years learning every aspect of wood framing construction.

As a Project Manager, Matthew had budget, buyout, scheduling, quality control and warranty responsibility for residential projects ranging from 43 lot single family subdivision to a 163 lot fee simple townhome community.

From 2005 to 2006 Matthew was responsible for second shift production operations at the Building Solutions Since 1977, LLC Selinsgrove, PA plant.

In 2006 Matthew was relocated to Ridgeland, SC and was the Project Manager for the design development, construction and start-up of our 88,000 square foot state of the art production facility in Jasper County, South Carolina.

From 2007 through 2009 Matthew was the plant manager of the Jasper County South Carolina production facility.

In January 2010, Matthew was promoted to General Manager and relocated back to Selinsgrove, PA.

Matthew is responsible for the day to day operations of the engineering, material procurement/management, production, quality control and all transportation logistics.


 

Michael G. Grossman, Project Manager

picteam mikegrossmanMichael began his career as a plumber/pipe fitter in the industrial and institutional sector of the construction industry. Michael worked 5 years as a journeyman plumber/pipe fitter.  He graduated from the The Keystone chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) 4 year program.

Michael joined the family business in 2001 as a Project Manager.

Michael has successfully completed the infrastructure and vertical construction of a 53 unit townhouse condominium project known as College Park Townhomes in New London, Ct, an 87 unit townhome condominium and a 100 slip marina project in Quaker Hill, CT and a 128 unit military housing townhome project in Hinesville, GA.

Michael was responsible for the successful and on time completion of complex wood frame structures at Rowan University, Glassboro, NJ, and Bloomsburg, Columbia County, PA.


 

Ronald Brown, Project Manager

Ronald joined our team in 2011 and served as a Project Manager for our Lions Gate multi-family project.  Ron has a rich construction industry background having served as a Construction Supervisor for over 14 years in Central Pennsylvania working on large scale projects.  Prior to that, Ron worked for many years as a carpenter, carpenter foreman and as a general superintendent.  Ron’s commitment to successful project completion is evident in his work ethic and outstanding performance at Lion’s Gate apartments under very difficult conditions


 

Randy Conrad, Business Development Specialist

picteam randyRandy joined our team in 1986. Randy spent 7 years working in our production process learning each position and developing a unique skill set.

In 1993 Randy was promoted to Director of Purchasing and was responsible for vendor relations, procurement, inventory management and control.

In 1995 Randy was promoted to Director of Costing and Information Management

In 1997 Randy was promoted to Operations Manager with responsibility for production scheduling, labor cost and quality control.

In 2002 Randy was promoted to his current position as a Business Development Specialist. Randy manages all of our Pennsylvania, Eastern Ohio and Central New York markets.

Randy’s knowledge, background and experience is a critical factor in assisting our clients gain market share, win competitive bids and complete each project on time and on budget.


 

Dennis Gorton, Director of Engineering Operations

picteam dennisDennis joined our team in 1995. As Director of Engineering Operations Dennis is responsible for the annual department budget, assignment and supervision of all design, engineering, production and order flow.

Using state of the art computer assisted design software Revit, MyTek Sapphire, Strucu Cale and more, Dennis and his experienced team produce site and specification specific cost effective value engineered framing systems shop drawings and plans.

Proper advanced planning and attention to every detail results in successful projects completed on time and on budget.


 

Ginger Griffith, Director of Fiscal Operations

picteam gingerGinger joined our team in 1998.  She has responsibility for all vendor and subcontractor administrative oversight, risk management, accounts receivable, accounts payable, job costing and human relations issues for all employees.

 

 

 

 


 

Matthew Kline, Chief Estimator

picteam mattkMatthew joined our team in 1994. Matthew spent 8 years working and learning each trade position in our manufacturing operations.

In 2002 Matthew was promoted to a position in our costing and information management departments, where he was responsible for costing and information interface with the four branded distribution channels known as Forest Homes, Building Systems Products and Supply, Smart Start Building Systems and American Pride Builders, Inc.

In 2010, Matthew was promoted to his current position of Chief Estimator. Matthew is responsible for the annual estimating department budget, training and supervision of estimating department staff, managing project estimating workload and value engineering to assist our clients with high value, cost effective framing systems that contribute to our client’s success on each and every project.


 

Robin Schell, Operations Clerk

picteam robinRobin joined our team in 1998.  She reviews, reconciles, and manages and administers all production orders, processes purchase orders and has administrative responsibility for material management. 

Robin has unique skills with enormous attention to detail that is critical to our core values.

 

 

 


 

Suzanne Heintzelman, Business Development Coordinator

picteam suzanneSuzanne joined our team in 1998. Suzanne is responsible for all office administrative functions and new business development support services.

Suzanne has a very strong aptitude for administrative organization and work flow. Suzanne’s responsibilities include document support to the Estimating Department, bid submissions and follow-up.

The efficiencies created by Suzanne enable American Pride Builders, Inc. to drive costs out of process and enable us to provide high quality cost effective framing systems backed by great service and positive minded people.
